NA Fedora Developer XO Program
For a variety of reasons Fedora (and specifically the Ambassadors) is running the NA Developer XO program now.
Want an XO? Here is how you qualify:
Package and maintain a sugar-* package for 2 releases or more
To get involved the Fedora-OLPC SIG is where you want to start. They hang out and have meetings in #fedora-olpc on irc.freenode.org. Ask for help there to get started. I will note that there are some substantial deadlines due to the desire to get stock F11 working for the next OLPC release.
OR
Build a Sugar activity that helps meet the ‘holy list of 4th grade maths‘
While we aren’t trying to say that any $sugaractivity isn’t cool, we’ve decided to focus on the 4th Grade Math curriculum because once assembled it should bring dramatic value to Sugar and thus to OLPC both of which of course benefits Fedora as well. The goal for assembling a 4th grade math curriculum is August 1, so we have just under 6 months.
If you want to get started with this #sugar on irc.freenode.org is the place to start as well as SugarLabs.
Regardless of which avenue you want to take, if you find you need help, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I am on irc.freenode.org as ke4qqq and hang out in #fedora-olpc quite a bit of the time. You can also fire an email off to me at david.nalley@fedoraproject.org
Since OLPC kindly provided ~75 XOs for QA purposes back in November we really aren’t seeking to put any of these to use for QA since we hope to leverage the people who already have some experience there and an XO in hand, though for a really compelling QA arguement (you have lots of QA experience, know Linux very well and have XX hours a week to dedicate to it, we might make an exception)
